Lockdown - BTEC Music Video

Production Log Week 9

What I have achieved this week & how I am apart of it?

Now that our videos are uploaded on YouTube, we have a regulation sheet to complete in 2 weeks. We have to write about the principles in a music video, how we've stuck to them and etc. We're evaluating over our music video which is actually going quite well for me.

How does this fit in with your production schedule?

It fits it quite well, seeing as i'm doing it on my own. There's no major problems which means i'm getting on the work and not wasting time.

Were there any problems?

No, not any big problems. Only problem is some of the questions are a little confusing so it takes more time to try to understand them then answer then and explaining my answer.

How did you overcome them?

I've asked the teachers or some members of the class and they've explained to me what it means and shown me an example so i can get the ball rolling.

What are your plans for the following week?

Complete the regulations sheet by next week.

Production Log Week 8

What I have achieved this week & how I am apart of it?

We have finished editing. It took a long time trying to piece every individual scene into the song. Jada was mainly the one editing and me and Anthony was telling her where to put certain shots and how it looked. There was a day where Jada had to go home earlier so me and Anthony were left to edit. It was good because it gave us a chance to use Final Cut and we put some good shots in.

How does this fit in with your production schedule?

It fits it quite well, seeing as there are 3 of us in a group. If one isn't in, the other isn't responsible for everything, so you could say we had each other's back. It's fitting it well because were each giving thought on where certain shots would do and we would follow the script so we're saving time.

Were there any problems?

No, not really. As i said last week there's just a lot of gaps in the music video. It's more tricky than anyone thinks when you're trying to put them every shot in a gap without making it look too cluttered of trashy but Mr Phillipson and Mr Mallen like it so far, so i think we will be ok.

How did you overcome them?

We tried to make flashback scenes where the gaps where. Luckily, it works well and looks quite effective without questioning why some scenes are repeated.

What are your plans for the following week?

Complete the regulations sheet regarding the whole of our work and what we did.

Production Log Week 7

What I have achieved this week & how I am apart of it?

Seeing as we have completed filming, we are now editing all the shots together. We have time on our hands until we have to finish it so at the moment, we are filling in gaps to complete the video.

How does this fit in with your production schedule?

Thankfully, quite well. There was a problem with Ellie and Farhana's work, time wasn't an ally for them and needed more time to re film, so Mr Phillipson was very generous and offered us more time until they had finished in which we had to complete absolutely everything.

Were there any problems?

No, not really. There was just huge gaps in our music video because we did not film enough shots but luckily Anthony and myself have a few good ideas that Jada will hopefully like so it can save our music video.

How did you overcome them?

Filming extra shots in our free time just in case we had to edit in something.

What are your plans for the following week?

To finally upload our music video on to YouTube.

Production Log Week 6

What have you contributed this week?

We have completed filming finally. We made a plan of when to film and where the cast should meet so we could do all the shooting done together.

How does this fit in with your production schedule?

Seeing as we planned this just days before the deadline was sit,  it meant we still had the music video to edit and seeing as the to do list was decreasing, we was getting the willpower to make more shots, thus leaving us with time to edit and re-film in case some scenes weren't up to our liking.

Were there any problems?

Some of the cast wasn't set on filming. The reason for this was that we was all getting tired and loosing hope at this point due to our flowing bad luck and time consuming challenges so setting our mind to filming was priority number one for everyone.

How did you overcome them?

We never gave up. Until the last day of filming, we was dead focused on completing everything, which we did. At the end of filming, we was all so relieved and proud and had friends to congratulate us.

What are your plans for the following week?

To start editing the music video and finish it it at a good quality.
