Production Log Week 9
What I have achieved this week & how I am apart of it?
Now that our videos are uploaded on YouTube, we have a regulation sheet to complete in 2 weeks. We have to write about the principles in a music video, how we've stuck to them and etc. We're evaluating over our music video which is actually going quite well for me.
How does this fit in with your production schedule?
It fits it quite well, seeing as i'm doing it on my own. There's no major problems which means i'm getting on the work and not wasting time.
Were there any problems?
No, not any big problems. Only problem is some of the questions are a little confusing so it takes more time to try to understand them then answer then and explaining my answer.
How did you overcome them?
I've asked the teachers or some members of the class and they've explained to me what it means and shown me an example so i can get the ball rolling.
What are your plans for the following week?
Complete the regulations sheet by next week.

Production Log Week 8
What I have achieved this week & how I am apart of it?
We have finished editing. It took a long time trying to piece every individual scene into the song. Jada was mainly the one editing and me and Anthony was telling her where to put certain shots and how it looked. There was a day where Jada had to go home earlier so me and Anthony were left to edit. It was good because it gave us a chance to use Final Cut and we put some good shots in.
How does this fit in with your production schedule?
It fits it quite well, seeing as there are 3 of us in a group. If one isn't in, the other isn't responsible for everything, so you could say we had each other's back. It's fitting it well because were each giving thought on where certain shots would do and we would follow the script so we're saving time.
Were there any problems?
No, not really. As i said last week there's just a lot of gaps in the music video. It's more tricky than anyone thinks when you're trying to put them every shot in a gap without making it look too cluttered of trashy but Mr Phillipson and Mr Mallen like it so far, so i think we will be ok.
How did you overcome them?
We tried to make flashback scenes where the gaps where. Luckily, it works well and looks quite effective without questioning why some scenes are repeated.
What are your plans for the following week?
Complete the regulations sheet regarding the whole of our work and what we did.

Production Log Week 7
What I have achieved this week & how I am apart of it?
Seeing as we have completed filming, we are now editing all the shots together. We have time on our hands until we have to finish it so at the moment, we are filling in gaps to complete the video.
How does this fit in with your production schedule?
Thankfully, quite well. There was a problem with Ellie and Farhana's work, time wasn't an ally for them and needed more time to re film, so Mr Phillipson was very generous and offered us more time until they had finished in which we had to complete absolutely everything.
Were there any problems?
No, not really. There was just huge gaps in our music video because we did not film enough shots but luckily Anthony and myself have a few good ideas that Jada will hopefully like so it can save our music video.
How did you overcome them?
Filming extra shots in our free time just in case we had to edit in something.
What are your plans for the following week?
To finally upload our music video on to YouTube.

Production Log Week 6
What have you contributed this week?
We have completed filming finally. We made a plan of when to film and where the cast should meet so we could do all the shooting done together.
How does this fit in with your production schedule?
Seeing as we planned this just days before the deadline was sit, it meant we still had the music video to edit and seeing as the to do list was decreasing, we was getting the willpower to make more shots, thus leaving us with time to edit and re-film in case some scenes weren't up to our liking.
Were there any problems?
Some of the cast wasn't set on filming. The reason for this was that we was all getting tired and loosing hope at this point due to our flowing bad luck and time consuming challenges so setting our mind to filming was priority number one for everyone.
How did you overcome them?
We never gave up. Until the last day of filming, we was dead focused on completing everything, which we did. At the end of filming, we was all so relieved and proud and had friends to congratulate us.
What are your plans for the following week?
To start editing the music video and finish it it at a good quality.

Production Log Week 5
What have you contributed this week?
This week we had to film every other shot that didn't involve scenes of the asylum with 'Aria' in it. We filmed test shots around the school to see if we could get any extra footage just in case we needed it. Jada asked a police station is we could have permission to use their basement for filming but they have not yet given an email or got back to us about it so our hope isn't very high at the moment.

How does this fit in with the production schedule/job roles/ overall ideas of your project?
Well we was supposed to film this week but seeing as we yet have no location, we filmed test shots around the school just in case we could use them as back up material really. It’s just that some of the other shots didn't fit in with the schedule because the majority of the shots are down in the basement.
Were there any problems?
Yes. The police station weren't answering any of our emails or our calls so we don't know what we are doing at the moment. I hope we use their property because the effect of the creepy, dark scene would be ideal for our music video but they need to reply to us asap because this is time consuming
How did you overcome them?

We gave up with the police station, along with the crypt and apartment in Hackney. Eventually, after time passing by- still clueless as to wear to go- we found out the school had a basement and we was permitted to use that whenever we could. We checked it out and it looks great
What are your plans for the following week?
That our filming is completed and to start editing.

Production Log Week 4
What have you contributed this week?
-This week we have done no filming due to an accident at a very inconvenient time.
How does this fit in with the production schedule/job roles/ overall ideas of your project?
- It doesn't. This was the worst possible time for this to happen. That location was ideal and is now inaccessible to use.

Were there any problems?
- Yes! The location we was going to burnt down due to an electrical fire. It was lucky we wasn't in the building when this occurred but still, we now have not many more ideas on where to film. There was another location Jada found which was a crypt. I was concerned about the structure of the building so Jada then found out we couldn't use it due to the dampness and the fact it was so old, the ceiling could of tumbled down on us.
How did you/ will you overcome your problems?
- Hopefully by finding another location and getting permission to use a certain part of the building. Me, Jada and Anthony are going to do some research and searching to find any in the local area and if not, will push the distance out further.
What are your plans for the following week?
-To find a safe and secure location that isn't too far away due to time and to start filming as soon as possible because we should be half way through our scenes now.

Production Log Week 3
What have you contributed this week?
- I was ill for the week so contributed very little, but my group managed to complete and hand in their work which was checked over and approved. Now they have made arrangements when and where to film and edit.
How does this fit in with the production schedule/job roles/ overall ideas of your project?
- By completing and uploading the documents, we can finally arrange when to film and what to film. The earlier we start, the more time we have to look over the footage and re film even with me behind. Regardless if i'm not in next week, Jada can still film the nurses and Anthony's scenes.

Were there any problems?
- I wasn't in for the week due to an illness. So I couldn't help the group as much as I could but I managed to upload all the work and data that was needed.
How did you/ will you overcome your problems?
- Whilst on sick-leave, i completed the cast sheets, waivers, e.t.c. that was needed for my group and then I uploaded it on blogger and made Jada aware so she could use it.
What are your plans for the following week?
- Filming. We hope to travel to the place in Hackney to complete my scenes. Hopefully, it will be a good experience and journey. If i'm still not in, I will work from home on any missing work and hope Jada can do some other scenes without me.

Job roles & responsibilities
Job roles and responsibilities.
Jada-
Jada is the editor, director and an actress in this music
video. The editor is responsible for editing all the individual shots into
scenes and then making this into a story. A director is responsible
for creating the vision of the film altogether. Jada is also going to be
playing the role of the psychiatrist in our music video ‘Lockdown’ who is going
to be in 6 scenes.
Anthony-
Anthony is the cameraman and an actor in this music video. He
is going to be filming everything and volunteering to be in charge of the
camera so we gave that role to him. He is also going to have a role as well in
the music video. He is going to play the security supervisor where he monitors
and documents the footage of the whole building.

Production Log Week 2
What have you contributed this week?
- This week, we are creating a shooting script for our music video. We are all putting our ideas together now and putting in shots. We take turns with this as we have to write what happening for an individual line. It's difficult and time consuming but hopefully we can get it finished.
How does this fit in with the production schedule/job roles/ overall ideas of your project?
- We have to put detail and care into this shooting script because if we rush it, the music video will be poor. Our music video would look so rushed and would be confusing for the viewers because there wouldn't be enough time to figure out what would be happening so we need to focus and keep our heads screwed on.
Were there any problems?
- There wasn't any major problems this week but there were some minorities. Jada was ill on the Monday which left me and Anthony doing the shooting script and to our luck, most of the script didn't save leaving us re-doing it. After we got back to were we was, it wasn't a problem adding to it but seeing as it was Jada's music video we couldn't detail everything, even with the planning script because Jada is a perfectionist and she knows what she wants and how she wants it.
How did you/ will you overcome your problems?
- I got in touch with her via Twitter and she was telling us how she wanted it laid out and said she would complete more shots at home so eventually we would be back on track again.
What are your plans for the following week?
- Next week, hopefully we would of finished and updated the shooting script and we all should be prepared to start filming the music video.

Production Log Week 1
What have you contributed this week?
- This week, we were put into groups to begin our music video. I am with Jada and Anthony. I am happy with my group because we all get along, they are reliable individuals and we are all focused on creating this music video. At the moment, we are planning our video and have wrote key events for each section of the song e.g. intro, verses, chorus and outro. We have much hope in our music video now because we are using Jada's idea and her artist has finally given us permission to use her song which will benefit us significantly.
How does this fit in with the production schedule/job roles/ overall ideas of your project?
- This will fit in with our production schedule because now we have permission to use the artist's song, we can properly plan everything. Before, we was just assuming what was to happen and there was a deadline so everything was depending on the artist saying yes. Now that she has, everything is much calmer, we can be more focused on different jobs now and now we just have to get the ball rolling on making the video.
Were there any problems?
- There wasn't any major problems this week. Only minority was filming the group Q&A. There was at least 12 outtakes due to us laughing and messing us what we was going to say but after a while, it was done properly and we was focused. Planning the video was a little tricky because it was harder than we thought. Matching the lyrics to scenes we wanted to use in the song was hard because difficult because it wasn't in the verses we wanted.
How did you/ will you overcome your problems?
- We was serious with each other whilst filming the Q&A. I think it was quite annoying because we wanted to get it over and done with so at the end of it, it was becoming stressful so we was focused and aiming to take it seriously which was successful in the end. Planning the video was difficult as i said but in the end we managed to plan out where we would film and how we can match everything together so it made sense.
What are your plans for the following week?
- Next week, hopefully we will of finished the shooting script and know what angles, shots and conventions we will be using. We hope to get this done quickly because it is time consuming and we have to know exactly what we are filming because making mistakes on a shortly timed plan could ruin what we've achieved so far.

Pitch and Feedback
Are there any areas of the presentation you would like to give more detail on?
- Yes, I would. I would like to give more detail on the conventions slide because I know I didn't describe it out accurately and I was talking about something else.
What did your audience identify as the strengths of your music video idea?
- They liked how I related my idea to intertextuality and a specific modern day theme. e.g a modern day Bonnie and Clyde.
What did your audience identify as areas of improvements?
- My audience made me aware that I was starring at the board to much and wasn't making eye contact which was due to nerves, so that would definitely be an improvement.
What changes will you make to your music video concept based on the feedback you received?
- I will change how the relationship is portrayed in the music video so it can still relate to people and look like something from a film.
